Human League (named after a society in the science fiction computer game Starforce: Alpha Centauri) were formed in the late 1970s by Sheffield-born Phil Oakley with Martyn Ware and Ian Craig-Marsh (who both went on to form Heaven 17). After joining forces with singers Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall, the hugely influential synthpop group scored the Christmas number one of 1981 with the classic "Don't You Want Me". The group had not wanted their record label to release it because they deemed it "too commercial", but it went on to sell 1.4 million copies in the UK alone, and also topped the U.S. chart.Fast-forward to 1995 and the group had not had a major hit record in nearly ten years. That all changed when they released the fabulous "Tell Me When" in January 1995, which charged its way up to number six in the charts.
Also from the successful comeback album "Octopus" was the ballad "One Man In My Heart", which was also remixed by Jonas and Ulf from Ace Of Base! Here's the TOTP performance of this #13 hit from March 1995. I'm not quite sure what that big box thing is Phil is standing behind. Anyone know?
Later on in 1995, a danced-up version of "Don't You Want Me" went to number 16, but that was the last time we saw them in the top 20. However, they have set to work on recording a new album and will be celebrating their 30th anniversary by going on a world tour in December.

Do you happen to have the version of "One Man In My Heart" that was remixed by AOB? I love that song but I don't think I've ever heard that remix...
Thanks,
Catie
